Thanksgiving Dinner

Our Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous. We had invited our friends David, Sara, and their three kids over for dinner. I put my pictures in backwards. So..Here is what our table looked like before we ate. Shawn and I both love to bake and cook. Shawn made pumpkin and apple pies and they were awesome!

Tanner made a small fruit tray with grapes, pineapple, and chocolate covered strawberries. This was really yummy!

This is where I was dipping my strawberries. My little clothes line worked really well.

And here is a little center piece I assembled from a kit I had bought.

We were all stuffed like turkeys when it was all done. We had a wonderful time with out friends. Tanner had a blast playing with Kyla, Keston and Kaden. I think he was sleeping before his head hit the pillow.

Adventure Night

Washington School had adventure night for first and second graders. They had a bunch of fun things for them to do that the kids can not do during a regular school day.

Here Tanner is climbing on the centipede. You have to climb up the poles then climb across the net. Tanner did this one twice. He was a little bit afraid on the first try. But, the second try he climbed the pole and made it all the way across.

Tanner is climbing the rock wall. I think he is a little bit afraid if heights. He almost made it to the top.

Tanner was struggling to get himself up this net. He finally made it up.

We all had a great time. Tanner loved this. This is right up his alley climbing on, up, and around things. He wants to do this again.

Grave Yard Vegie Tray!

I volunteered to bring a veggie tray for Tanner's Halloween party at school today. I went to Michael's craft store and bought everything for this grave yard. Here it is after all the veggies are added.

And here is what it looks like before the veggies. It is hard to tell but can you see the light poles in the back light up. I hope they like it.

Trick or treating is this Friday from 5 to 8 in Stevens Point. Hope you have fun and be safe! I also got an e-mail saying the foil wrapped coins you are supposed to throw away because they contain Melamine. Family Fun Carving pumpkins!

For some reason this post is a mess. I have photos everywhere.

Last night we carved pumpkins. Tanner carved the pumpkin to the left and the pumpkin below. Scott carved the skull head.

Tanner and Shawn carved the spider and I carved the dragon head. Why I picked a dragon head to carve I don't know.

We had a great time. We also have a bunch of seeds to roast. I am going to try some with ranch dressing. If you have any other ideas for pumpkin seeds please send them my way.

I volunteered to do a veggie tray for Tanner's class room Halloween party. I made it look like a grave yard it looks pretty scary. I will post the pics soon.

I tried to take some photos of some of my pumpkins. And as you can see my camera is a piece of crap. In a few months I will be getting a new one.

Where has the time gone?

Usually in the morning when I wake up I find Tanner snuggled up next to me. He knows Shawn is at work and that there is room for him. So this morning I went to wake him up for school he looked so precious sleeping I did not want to wake him up. I sat there and thought where has the time gone. My baby is already 6 years old. I took a few pictures and I thought they turned out pretty cool looking and had to share.

Tanner's First Day of First Grade!

It is so hard to believe that Tanner is already in first grade. He was so ready for school. He was excited to meet his old friends and to make a bunch of new friends.

Here is Tanner getting off the bus at Washington Service Learning Center. He looks so big like he has been going to school for years.

And here is Tanner and his friend Gavin standing by their lockers. Can you believe they get their own lockers in first grade. How cute!

We met Tanners teacher Mrs. Beversdorf. She is such a nice teacher and Tanner says he really likes her. I think it will be another wonderful year. I can't wait to volunteer and go on field trips I always had such a fun time in kindergarten when I was there. It's kinda funny but, all the kids in Tanner's class would call me" Tanner's Mom".We also found out that Mrs. Beversdorf lives just a couple of streets over from where we live.

Another Project Complete !!

I finally completed Tanner's bedroom. As you can see it is done in John Deere. The first time I ordered the wall paper I did not order enough so I had to order some more and of course it was on back order. I ordered it on April 10th and almost 5 months later I finally received it.

I still need a new camera.

Maybe I will buy myself one for Christmas ;-)

I found a couple of really cool John Deere tin signs. The fur is an animal they caught trapping.

I am still working on my craft room. It is coming along slowly my issue that I am having is a neat way to store some of my things.

Nothing has been going on here. I am still working on my craft room. Working a ton of hours and am sleep deprived.

This weekend we are going to Mt. Olympus. I think we all need this to recharge. We will go there on Friday spend the night. On Saturday I would like to go downtown.

Tanner is so excited He is asking a million questions.

I think this winter we will go to the Dells again and maybe stay again at Mt.Olympus or a different indoor water park.

I will post some pics later and let you know how it was.

Baby Shower Gift

I have a baby shower this weekend for my cousin. We know she is having a boy. Along with a gift we were asked to give a book. I think a children's Bible would be a great idea. This is what I started out with as a gift. 3 onesies, 3 pr. of socks, 1 bib, and 1 burp rag.

And here is the bouquet when it is all put together. Do you think she will like it?

I also added a small toy to hold the tissue paper together.

Today I did some babysitting for my two nieces Jurnee and Sophia. We had a great time today. Tanner and Jurnee spent almost all day in the pool. I think they were starting to grow fins and scales. They have such a great time when they are together.

Sophia was such a good girl today and so easy to please. She had a blast playing pirate with me. As you can tell by the photo I couldn't get her to sit still for the picture.

Come visit aunt Shannon again.

Father's Day Gift

I know it's a bit late. But, I would like you to see the Father's Day gift Tanner and I made.

As I was putting everything together our dog sneezed on the matting and a bunch of water spots started to appear. So in a bit of a panic I added a few stickers to cover the spots.

Later that day we went to Shawn's parents house and Tanner wanted to show them Shawn's gift. As we were leaving I was carrying the frame and I put an orange soda on top. While we were driving Tanner says Mom why is Daddy's gift turning orange. Well, the cover on the soda was not on very tight. When we got home I took everything apart and redid it. So here is the final project.

Digging up dirt

A couple weeks ago we decided to buy a swimming pool. We did not have a level spot anywhere for a swimming pool. So Tanner and I needed to dig up some dirt . We got it done in a couple of days and as you can see by the photo I had quite the helper.

We have the pool up and filled Tanner has been swimming in the pool everyday. He enjoys it so much. He has had his cousins Jurnee and Sophie come over and a bunch of friends come over to swim. I am very impressed how well Tanner can swim. He has not had any swimming lessons. Shawn has taught him very well. Tanner can do three front flips under water all in a row. I'm surprised he can hold his breath for that long.

Preparing my Craft Room

I started working on my scrap room this weekend. Saturday we moved Tanner into his new room. I am still waiting for the rest of his wallpaper to get here. It should be here within the next three weeks. I tore off all of the construction border, painted, and hung the bottom half wallpaper. In the picture below it is not completely dry yet.

Here is one completed area of my scrap room.

And here is my border close up. This border was really hard to hang. I was able to hang one whole roll at a time. I got one hung, walked to the other end and the whole strip fell to the floor. It did not have much glue on the back so I ended up having to apply some Elmers glue to it. That seemed to help.

I have almost three rolls left over so I am planning on cutting out all of the hearts and hanging them as a border on the top of my walls.

I will post more as I am moving my supplies in.

Yard Work

What a beautiful day to be alive. I think it was about 67 degrees outside. We were finally able to open the windows. The guys were outside today doing yard work and Tanner loves driving the lawn mower. He thinks it's cool and that he is big like his dad. He is so cute.

My Craft room is well on it's way I will post some pictures tomorrow.

I think it is time the dog goes for a looong ride to the shelter.

He started in thr garbage in thr kitchen and ended in the livingroom.

Happy 6th Birthday Tanner!

Friday was Tanner's 6th Birthday already. Time is flying by so fast. For Tanner's birthday treat at school I took a bunch of cut up fruit and the kids loved it. After school Tanner opened up his gifts then we went out to eat at the olympia restaurant.

On Saturday Tanner had 12 friends come over for a birthday party. We played lots of games, ordered pizza, had some punch, ate cake, and opened presents. The kids had a blast. And let me tell you the noise level was off the charts. WOW! As a thank you to all the kids I bought sand buckets and filled them with bubbles, squirt guns, flarp, and jump ropes. Plus the kids won kites, more bubbles, bracelets and a bunch of other toys as they were playing games. Tanner said it was his best birthday ever. It was fun but very exhausting.

I really need a new camera !

Painted Bedroom

Wow, It sure has been a long time since I posted. I have been so busy. We are still on 50+ hours at work. We repainted and wallpapered our bedroom. I needed to make it a bit more relaxing. I think it turned out pretty good. I need to find the perfect curtains now. And for the record my husband did the painting with a double roller and two colors. He did a great job.

I still have a lot of painting to do in my house. Scott moved his room downstairs. I was going to paint and wallpaper but he is not sure yet how he wants it done.

Tanner is moving in Scott's old room and wants it done in nothing else but "JOHN DEERE." I have ordered wallpaper and border it should be here be the end of the week. I will post pics. when it is complete.

And then for the big announcement**Drum roll Please** I am moving my craft room upstairs in Tanner's old room. I am so excited for that. Trust me I will post pictures of my progress of my craft room.

Snow Snow and More Snow

Believe it or not we've had robins yes, I said robins in our crab apple tree eatting the small apples. In the middle of snow storms the robins are all puffed up looking like they are frozen to the branches. When I first saw them in the begining of winter I thought it was going to ba a mild winter. It has been everything but mild. I don't think I like the snow anymore.

The snow is not stopping. We got 10 inches + yesterday and it is still snowing. We have no where to put the snow. Our snowbanks are over 6 ft. tall. The picture above is our deck usually we shovel this too but the driveway has been enough.

Well time to go shovel again. I will post my beautiful flowers I received from Shawn and our boys for Valentines Day.

Thank You Card

I think it turned out pretty cute. I hope they like it.

I received another DVD for my Creating Keepsakes DVD set ( I think that is seven now)and received some cards with it. I used one of the cards as an example to make this one.

Tanner has his friend Gavin over yesterday for a couple of hours. I thought they played pretty well. Today Tanners friend Joshua is over they a getting along just fine. Tanner enjoys having his friends over.

Mom and Dad

Well, so much has gone on in the last couple of weeks.
My mom went in for her yearly mammogram and they found a lump near her breast bone. They went in with a ultrasound guided needle. The lump broke when they poked it with the needle, So the doctors don't think it is cancer. They were able to get some tissue, now , we are just waiting for the results.

My dad had a massive heart attack on Thursday. Three of his main arteries were blocked 100% they repaired those three plus one more. I think he may be coming home tomorrow or Tuesday. Hopefully, this will be a wake up call and he will take better care of himself.

Scott turned "18" today. He is now an adult. I feel so old. My mom and Mike came over for supper. Shawn made a homemade vanilla cake and some dirt cake ( yummy) So much for my diet. Although I have lost 5 pounds so far.

Curtains and Border

The material I got for curtains are checkered dark green and beige. Now, I am not sure how or what colors I am going to paint. I am maybe thinking of painting light brown. I don't know. Please Help !!

Cleaning and painting

We had a wonderful Christmas. I got my diamond earrings I asked for plus, a matching necklace and earrings set from Tanner and a Sapphire bracelet from Scott. We had a great time with family, ate lots of food. I am so glad it is over.

I can't believe it is already 8 days into January. This year is going so fast. I have been so busy this year. I am trying to clean my house including my basement and scrap room. I have a pointsetta left over from Christmas ( actually two of them ) and I am debating if I should toss them or keep them. They both are in great shape.

I have so many clothes from Tanner that I need to take to goodwill plus a lot of other crap. I just need to find the time. We are still on 50 hours at work. I am working 5 10's. The next two weeks I will be on second shift so I will start my week on Sunday. I will probably go in for 5 hours.

I found this cool picture of curtains that I want to put in my living room. Hopefully, I can post a picture in a couple of days. I also want to paint my living room and put the same border back up the curtains and border match perfect. I am not sure what color I should paint.

A Few Of My Favorite Things

I have been so busy the last couple of weeks. I have been getting orders for bookmarks. I got them all done and shipped out. Now, I just need to make a couple more for some family members. Plus , I need to finish up my calendars. They are also Christmas gifts. We have been on 50+ hours per week at work.

I really enjoy the Christmas season. I love all the decorations, lights, and expecially the food (chocolate ). Here are a couple of my favorite decorations.

This santa is so cute. You are supposed to put him in front of a door to stop the draft. I have him sitting on top of my tv for everyone to see.

The puppy sits so well in my tree. I also have a snowman that sits on a tree branch. They seen to put a cute touch on my tree.

That's it for now. I will try to post more this week. I have some more Christmas pictures to share.

One more thing. I do know that I am getting earrings for Christmas. I asked Shawn if he bought me earrings he said no and Tanner said yes we did. That was on my Christmas list.

I completed the bookmarkers for Tanners class. They turned out very cute. I think his class will like them.

I have some I need to make for myself that I am giving as gifts. I also have people ordering them from me. Right now I have a total of 10 that I have to make that peopls have ordered.I charge $3.00 per bookmarker.

I think after the holidays I will sell some on E-bay.

For Tanners kindergarten class instead of exchanging names for Christmas Mrs. Schneider decided to have each student bring in 23 small items pencils, stickers. So I am going to make each class mate a bookmarker with their name. I need to have them done by Dec. 19th. I made one and I think it turned out pretty cute!

Christmas Cards

I see my last blog worked. Now I will try to post some pictures.

I have decided to make my own Christmas cards this year with Tanner my 5 year old. We only did one card so far as a sample. We had a great time making it. As we were making the card Tanner says to me "Mom I like your hair today." I know he really enjoyed making the cards with me.

Only 26 more days till Christmas.

Tanner and I put up our Christmas trees ( we have three trees this year ) One in my living room, One in the kitchen, and one in Tanner's room. I will post some pics soon.

Well,I am not quite sure how to do this yet. I am trying to set up my page and it seems to be going ok. I am going to try and post a couple of blogs a week. I would like to do it daily but, I dont think I will have time. That is it for now. Let's see if it works.
